Dear Ankita,

Thank you for your question and concern. Based on the details you’ve shared:

TR3 Nodules (Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System – TI-RADS):
These are considered mildly suspicious nodules. As per international guidelines, nodules in this category may need FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) if they are larger than 2.5 cm or if there are other clinical concerns.

Cervical Lymph Nodes <12 mm:
Small nodes of this size are usually not alarming, especially if there is no rapid growth, pain, or other symptoms. However, a thorough clinical evaluation is still recommended.

❓ Is FNAC safe?

Yes, FNAC is a very safe and commonly used test.
🔍 It helps doctors identify whether a nodule is benign or suspicious for cancer.
🚫 The myth that FNAC “spreads cancer” is not true. There is no scientific evidence supporting that FNAC spreads cancer.

✅ Dr. Dishant’s Suggestion:

Please consult a qualified ENT or head and neck surgeon. Based on the size, location, and clinical symptoms, they will decide if FNAC is needed.
Early diagnosis helps in better management. Don’t delay out of fear — act on facts.

Wishing your father good health.
Warm regards,
